Meet Stan & Lorrie

Lorrie StanStan and Lorrie have been married since November 1975. They were high school sweethearts. They both attended Noble (OK) High School. Lorrie is a native of California. Stan is from Texas.

Stan and Lorrie have three children: Wade, who is married to Misty. Wade and Misty have three children: Andrea, Abigail and Jack. Kellen, the middle child (deceased March 31, 2006). Meredith is the youngest. She is married to Mike Tift. Meredith and Mike have one child: Marisa. “We are blessed with a beautiful family. Our grandchildren are especially dear to us.”

Stan served six years active duty in the U.S. Air Force. After completing his military service, the family returned to Norman, OK so Stan could complete his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma (May 1984). After years of working in radio and television, Stan and Lorrie decided to seek training for full-time ministry.

Stan attended the Institute for Christian Studies (ICS), now known as Austin Graduate School of Theology (Austin, TX) and graduated in December 1995 with a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies, conferred by Abilene Christian University. Stan and Lorrie have served the George West Church of Christ, George West, TX; College Church of Christ, Victoria, TX; Whitney Ave. Church of Christ, North Haven, CT. Stan and Lorrie just finished nine years of service to WACC in March 2009. During their work in Connecticut, Stan earned a Master’s degree from Yale University Divinity School (May 2007). Throughout all their travels, Lorrie has worked in the medical field; working in emergency rooms, medical clinics, nonprofit and multi-physician practices. She has been working with an orthopedic surgeon for the last 7 years.

Stan and Lorrie’s next kingdom assignment is a new church planting in Abilene, TX. Plans are underway to grow a multi-racial, multi-cultural, gender inclusive Church of Christ in Abilene, TX. Work is just beginning. The challenges will be great, but the rewards will be greater. God’s Spirit is leading this venture. Pray for the Baldwin family. Pray for gender justice in God’s kingdom. Pray for transformed lives in resurrection power lived today and tomorrow. To God be the glory!
